Gombe Diocese was among the missionary Dioceses created during the church of Nigeria Committee meeting at Lagos in September 1999 and Rt. Rev. Henry C. Ndukuba was elected as Bishop of the new Diocese.The Diocese started with 18 Churches but has grown to 105 Churches at present.
On 21st september 1999, the bishop, the Rt. Rev. Henry C. Ndukuba, was consecrated with seven other Bishops. On 25th november 1999 the Diocese of Gombe was inaugurated as the 71st Diocese of the church of Nigeria and the first Bishop The Rt. Rev. Henry C. Ndukuba was entroned. On 18th December 1999 we held our inaugural Diocesan Board meeting. At the meeting we laid down some guiding principle for the administration and set the goals for the Diocese.

The Diocese of Gombe [Anglican Communion] was inaugurated as a Missionary Diocese on 25th November 1999. It was created out of the Diocese of Bauchi and it covers the geographical area of Gombe State. Since our inception our annual Synod has always been in November closest to the date of our inauguration. GADDI is fully registered faith based organization of the Diocese that work with the underprivileged members of our communities in Gombe State in collaboration with Government, international and national organizations and agencies.
Since our last Synod GADDI has secured new International Partners and other frontiers are opening up and the future is bright.
GADDI is also supporting the work of the Diocese. GADDI recently acquired a piece of land in Tunfure for the building of residential houses as an investment

THERE ARE THREE SECONDARY SCHOOLS RUN BY THE DIOCESE AND MORE THAN THIRTY PRIMARY SCHOOLS RUN BY THE LOCAL PARISHES. THE SCHOOLS ARE MANAGED BY THE DIOCESAN EDUCATION MANAGEMENT BOARD WHICH ACTS AS THE SUPERVISING BOARD/BODY TO ALL THE SCHOOLS IN THE DIOCESE.READ MORE
The Diocese of Gombe is an Agrarian Diocese whose people are mainly farmers. We need to harness ourAgricultural and natural resources so as to meet our needs. Considering the policies ofthe Federal Government and the economy of our Nation, we see Agricultural investment as a good one.
The Diocesan Task-Force on Agricultural Resources which was constituted last year is yet to start functioning effectively. The Diocese want to establish a Diocesan Farm, and other Agric Business. There are friends in the Southern part of the country that will patronise us; all we need is to do our Business plan and the capital to start.
